This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar tracking technologies we use on imprint-digital.com, why we use them, and how you can control them. For a broader explanation of how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.
01 What are cookies?.
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember information about your visit — preferences, login state, what pages you've seen — which makes your next visit smoother and helps site owners understand how the site is being used.
We also use related technologies like pixels, tags, and local storage. For simplicity, we'll refer to all of these as “cookies” throughout this policy.
02 Why we use them.
We use cookies to:
- Make the site work. Keep your session active, remember your preferences, handle form submissions.
- Measure how the site performs. Pages visited, time on site, where traffic is coming from. We use this to make the site better.
- Run our marketing. Understand which campaigns bring qualified visitors so we can spend our ad budget responsibly — and yes, retarget you if you've shown interest in our services.
- Improve our content. See which articles get read, which sections people scroll past.
03 Types of cookies we use.
Strictly necessary
Required for the site to function. These can't be turned off through our cookie banner because nothing would work without them.
- Session cookies (browser default)
- Security and CSRF tokens
- Cookie consent state
Performance & Analytics
Help us understand how visitors interact with the site. Aggregated and anonymous — we can't identify you personally from this data.
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — page views, session duration, traffic sources
- Google Tag Manager (GTM) — manages the tags that fire the cookies above
Functional
Remember preferences and choices so you don't have to set them again.
- UI preference cookies (dark/light if applicable, dismissed banners)
- Form-state persistence across reloads
Advertising & Targeting
Used to deliver relevant ads, measure ad performance, and retarget visitors who've shown interest in our services.
- Meta Pixel (Facebook / Instagram) — conversion tracking and audience building
- Google Ads conversion tracking
- LinkedIn Insight Tag (if active on the campaign)
The first three categories are pretty mundane. The fourth (advertising) is the one most people care about — and the one you can absolutely opt out of below without affecting your experience on the site.
04 Third-party cookies.
Some content embedded on our site comes from third parties and sets their own cookies:
- YouTube — when you watch an embedded video
- Google Maps — on pages where we embed our office location
- GHL booking calendar — on /book when you load the calendar widget
- Storyblok visual editor — only on staging/preview URLs, never on production
These third parties have their own cookie and privacy policies, which we don't control. Their cookies are subject to their terms, not ours.
05 How long cookies stay.
Cookies fall into two categories by duration:
- Session cookies — deleted when you close your browser
- Persistent cookies — stored on your device for a set period (anywhere from a few hours to 2 years, depending on the cookie's purpose)
Most analytics and advertising cookies have a default lifetime of up to 24 months. You can clear all of them at any time through your browser settings.
06 Your choices.
You have three ways to control cookies:
1 · Our cookie banner
The banner that appears on your first visit lets you accept, reject, or customize which categories of cookies you allow. You can re-open it anytime by clicking Cookie Settings in the footer.
2 · Your browser
All modern browsers let you block or delete cookies through settings. Here are the relevant pages:
3 · Opt out directly
- Google Analytics: install the GA opt-out browser add-on
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram) ads: manage in your Facebook ad preferences
- Industry-wide opt-outs: Digital Advertising Alliance and Network Advertising Initiative
If you block all cookies (including strictly necessary), parts of the site may not work correctly — for example, forms may not submit. We recommend allowing strictly necessary and turning off the rest if you prefer.
07 Do Not Track signals.
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. There's no industry consensus on how to respond to DNT, so we currently do not change our behavior based on it. To opt out of tracking, use the methods in section 6 above — they're more reliable.
08 Changes to this policy.
We may update this Cookie Policy as the technologies and services we use change. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
